The Tubes, classic rock band, perform live this Thursday at Scion's Music in the Park presented by Dos Equis and Metro Newspapers - 5:30 p.m.
Get a blast from the past with 70's band The Tubes with Fee Waybill, brought to you by 98.5 KFOX and the Downtown Association. Opening the event is rock / soul band Dusty Rhodes and the River Band. Music in the Park is a family event that takes place every Thursday through Aug. 27. 5:30-9:15 p.m., Plaza de Cesar Chavez. Next week: Classic Rock music with The Tubes. After a competitive selection process, 18 of San Jose's unheralded best singers have been selected to blow MP fans away with their talented vocal skills. Come on down to the Plaza this week to support the first round of contestants:

The America Fest
has been canceled for this year, but there's still reason to come downtown over
this Fourth of July weekend, starting with the Music in the Park free concert
with The Tubes on Thursday, followed by a series of live blues performances at
the "Red White and Blues Community Celebration" at the Poor House Bistro, the
Trinity Independence Day Bell concert on the lawn of St. James Park and fun
activities for the kids at the Children Discovery Museum. Children's Discovery Museum
will be open - so bring the family to enjoy Curious George and all the rest of
the fun.
Last but not least, a free FIREWORKS SHOW brought to you by the San Jose Giants!
The fireworks show is scheduled to light up the sky on Saturday after the 6:30 p.m. SJ Giants game against Modesto Nuts at the Municipal Stadium. Spectators can watch the show from San Jose State's East Field, next to Spartan Stadium on Tenth and Alma streets, or at Kelley Park on Alma and Senter Road. $8 parking will be available at the Municipal Stadium, Bud Winter Field, Kelley Park and San Jose State's Seventh Street garage.

Plenty of parking in Terminal A garage - Drivers parking for a day or more should use this garage and take the blue shuttle bus to Terminal C. The Terminal A garage is an easy alternative when parking lots may fill during mid-week peaks.

Relocation of VTA bus stop at Terminal C - The VTA Airport Flyer (Route #10) will stop at the south end of the Terminal A Departures curb, as well as in front of Terminal C.
