SJDA Events

The Downtown Association's calendar of events starts in May and ends in January of each year.

The Downtown Farmers' Market at San Pedro Square kicks off activities the first Friday of May. Except for major holidays, the market is open each Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. rain or shine, through the third week of December (note: no market on Friday, July 2 or Nov 26). 

This year, food lovers will flock to the second annual Dine Downtown San Jose, June 2-12. Experience prixe-fixe menus and promotions at various downtown restaurants. Plus get a sneek peak and sample edible delights at the City Bites Kick-Off Event. There's a taste for every palette.

During the summer, SJDA fills the calendar with free concerts and outdoor movies. Look for Music in the Park at Plaza de Cesar Chavez on Thursdays June 3-August 26 and Starlight Cinemas co-produced by Cinequest on Wednesdays June 9-Aug 26 (except July 7 and Aug 4) in San Pedro Square, Post Street in the Historic District, and the SoFA District.  To help guide you this summer, download our Summer Brochure. 

The Downtown Ice seasonal skating rink opens in November and continues into January in the Circle of Palms, in the heart of holiday activities in downtown San Jose. Skate, spin and twirl among a circular grove of palm trees.
