July 19: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) (G)
- Pre-screening activities begin at 7:30 pm
- Biggest bubble bubble-gum competition
- Slurpee drinking challenge.
- First 100 audience members will participate in our Beard Papa’s “golden ticket,” good for free cream puffs.
July 26: Hairspray (1988) (PG)
August 2: Grease (PG)
Come early for a dance off to the Grease soundtrack plus a look-alike contest. It's time to pull out those crisp white tees and leather jackets.
August 9: Buena Vista Social Club (G)
The movie starts around 8:30 pm, but come an hour early to see a free performance by the Uber Clave Latin Jazz band from the San Jose Jazz summer camp.
August 16: West Side Story (Not Rated)
Enjoy performances by lead performers from the recent Children Musical Theatre San Jose production of "West Side Story" featuring Paul DeLoreto, Oilivia Mailk, Shawn Platzker, and Tiffany Tanquary. Then sit back and enjoy the 1961 Winner of "BEST PICTURE" and 10 Academy Awards - an unforgettable musical about two youngsters from rival NYC gangs who fall in love.
August 23: A Mighty Wind (PG-13)
Local folk singers GTO will lead a sing-a-long of folk music classics
in preperation for this Christopher Guest Mockumentary.
Warm Saturday nights when the kids can stay up late and the cool grass and setting of historic St. James Park. It will be a good time.
And don't forget about free outdoor movies on Wednesdays at San Pedro Square.
